Ministry of Education: Promote educational digitalization strategic actions to improve the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools
Xinhuanet, Beijing, January 26th: Today, the Ministry of Education held a press conference to introduce the preparations for the 2024 World Digital Education Conference and the progress in promoting the digitalization of education over the past year. At the press conference, Zhu Dongbin, deputy director of the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education, introduced the progress of the construction and application of the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools.
Zhu Dongbin introduced that the Ministry of Education has actively promoted the strategic action of educational digitalization and continuously optimized the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools. It has played an important role in sharing high-quality educational resources, deepening the reform of education and teaching, and comprehensively assisting the construction of a learning society, and has achieved three improvements:
First, the supply capacity of high-quality resources has been significantly improved. We continue to build high-quality digital resources covering moral, intellectual, physical, artistic and labor aspects. The total number of platform resources currently reaches 88,000, which is more than double the number at the beginning of the year (44,000). This further enriches the multi-version teaching material course resources and covers the teaching material version. From 30 volumes at the beginning of the year, a total of 446 volumes increased to 65 editions, a total of 565 volumes; the construction of popular science resources in primary and secondary schools was strengthened, and the “Scientific Open Course” was jointly created with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the “Experimental Teaching Quality Courses” and “Experimental Teaching Lectures” were launched online “Master’s Lecture for Children” and other high-quality resources. Zhu Dongbin introduced: “On the first anniversary of the launch of the National Education Digitalization Strategic Action, the Ministry of Education launched the National Youth Student Reading Action, built and opened a national smart education reading platform, and brought together “Youth Reading Space”, “Elderly Reading Community” China Rich reading resources such as the Language and Text Digital Museum and the China Digital Science and Technology Museum, and relying on the platform to carry out reading sharing activities, have led all regions to pay more attention to young people’s reading, and promoted the widespread and in-depth development of reading activities for young students across the country.”
Second, the functional service capabilities of the platform have been significantly improved. In addition to the original support for multiple terminals such as computers, classroom large screens, mobile phones, and TV screen projection, Pad and PC terminals have been newly launched. It has developed teacher preparation tools, personal resource library, live broadcast area, activity area, etc. It provides online test writing, offline practice and other functions. It is equipped with nearly 15,000 exercises and provides analysis videos for each question to facilitate follow-up classes. Practice to consolidate the knowledge learned and improve learning efficiency.
Third, teachers’ digital literacy has improved significantly. Carry out national-level online training on platform applications, carry out winter and summer teacher training and other activities, strengthen guidance, tracking and summary of pilot work, use the power of expert guidance teams, teaching researchers and outstanding teachers to guide front-line teachers to make good use of the high-quality resources provided by the platform , learn excellent teaching cases, improve teaching design and classroom teaching capabilities, explore platform course resource application models, and the majority of teachers’ initiative and ability to apply the national platform have been greatly improved.
