Mission Hospital NICU Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with Adorable Photo Shoot

Asheville, NC – Mission Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) brought a touch of Irish cheer to its tiniest patients this St. Patrick’s Day with a heartwarming photo shoot. Newborns in the NICU donned festive green outfits, creating a delightful scene for families and staff.

A Collaborative Effort

The special event was made possible through the generous donation of outfits from Preemies of the Carolinas. The Mission Children’s WNC Family Support Network and the dedicated nursery teams worked together to ensure a smooth and safe photoshoot for the little ones. Nurses closely monitored the babies throughout the session.

Prioritizing Infant Sleep Safety

Mission Hospital emphasizes the importance of safe sleep practices for all infants. They remind parents and caregivers that babies should always be placed on their backs to sleep, with a bare crib – free of any blankets, pillows, or toys. This practice significantly reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
