Modris Skaistkalns Returns to Latvian Music Charts

On August 5, 2025, GAISAA released the debut single “Mēs Krītam Uz Augšu”, which was in the TOP 15 songs list of Latvian Radio 2 “Muzikālās bankas” for six consecutive weeks. The group’s next single, “Kā Vasaras Prabūshī”, also received radio recognition, spending two weeks among the TOP 10 of the most played domestic musicians on Latvian radio stations. Currently, the group is working on its debut album, revealing the musical signature of “GAISAA” step by step.

“GAISAA” consists of singer, producer and songwriter Modris Skaistkalns, who was once widely known as a member of the association “100 debut”, singer Jana Briede and guitarist Sandis Ķešāns – known as a member of the vocal-instrumental group “Smaržo Pēš Lietus”. “GAISAA” offers its listeners the so-called sunset pop, in which elements of funk and indie music are woven.
