Montemurlo Estate 2026 Kicks Off with Cultural and Sporting Events

The Comune di Montemurlo officially launched “Montemurlo Estate 2026,” a summer program featuring cultural, recreational, and sporting activities, according to local authorities. The initiative, organized in collaboration with regional associations, aims to transform urban spaces into community gathering points, including Villa Giamari Park, the central park, and the Ado Nelli Stadium. “Montemurlo Estate offers two months of culture, music, and entertainment to enjoy the summer months together,” said Assessor Giuseppe Forastiero.

What Events Are Included in Montemurlo Estate 2026?

The program includes a range of activities, starting with the Torneo dei Rioni, a local football tournament held at the Ado Nelli Stadium. Matches began in early July, with playoffs scheduled for July 13–14, semifinals on July 16–17, and the final on July 21 at 9 p.m. The event is free to attend, according to the municipality’s announcement.

Cine Family, an outdoor film series, will screen free movies at Villa Giamari Park every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. from July 22 through September 2, including dates on August 5, 12, 19, and 26. Meanwhile, the “Camminotte” night walks, organized by local groups, will take place every Monday at 9 p.m. in Piazza della Repubblica from July 6 to July 27.

How Does Montemurlo Celebrate Its History?

The 35th Montemurlo Historical Parade will commemorate the Battle of Montemurlo on July 28 at 8 p.m., with a procession through historical sites. On July 30, “Dentro la Storia” will be held in Piazza della Repubblica, organized by the Fondazione Cdse. These events highlight the town’s heritage, as noted in the municipality’s promotional materials.

What Music and Food Events Are Scheduled?

The Montemurlo in Music series features performances by emerging artists on July 10, Sara Ruoti’s concert on July 12, and the Albiano Beer Festival on July 11–12. Additional music nights include “Canzoni e Dintorni” and “Discomusic Giovani” in Piazza della Libertà and Amendola. Food-focused events include “Montemurlo sotto le stelle” on July 8, “Mulino in Festa” on July 15, and the 33rd Watermelon Festival on July 24.

All events, except for the Torneo dei Rioni, are free and open to the public, as stated by the Comune di Montemurlo. The municipality emphasized accessibility, with no entry fees required for cultural, sporting, or recreational activities. “The goal is to create inclusive spaces for residents and visitors to engage with the community,” Forastiero said.
