In early March 2026, a patient reported to Montgomery County police that Dr. Semaie sexually assaulted her during two separate dental procedures at his Silver Spring office. The patient stated that no dental hygienist was present during the alleged assaults.
Prior Investigation and License Suspension
Police investigations revealed a previous report filed with the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners in 2018 concerning similar allegations against Dr. Semaie. His dental license was suspended, and he was placed on probation. Still, no criminal charges were filed at that time.

On Thursday, March 21, 2026, Dr. Semaie was arrested and charged with multiple counts of fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault. He has since been released on bond. Montgomery County Police Department released a statement regarding the arrest.
