Quebec Court Postpones Bail Hearing for Accused Hitman Known as Tupac

A Montreal underworld figure who uses the aliases Tupac and Kim Jong-Un is seeking release on bail while fighting extradition to the United States on murder and drug conspiracy charges. Atna Ohna appeared briefly in Quebec Superior Court in Montreal on Wednesday before the hearing was postponed.

U.S. federal prosecutors want Ohna extradited to Los Angeles to stand trial over allegations that he helped orchestrate the murder of an FBI informant for purported cocaine kingpin Ryan Wedding. Montreal police identify Ohna as one of the city’s most prominent organized crime figures, and he is currently held at Quebec’s Roberval jail, located 350 kilometres northeast of Montreal.

Court Documents Detail Alleged Payment and Surveillance

According to Canadian court documents, Ohna received $150,000 in cash, 30 kilograms of cocaine, and a bejewelled red necklace for tracking down target Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia. The former Wedding associate turned FBI informant was shot in the head while having lunch in Medellin, Colombia, in January 2025.

Court records show Ohna enlisted an acquaintance to help locate Acebedo-Garcia by promising that Wedding would pay for her “Brazilian butt lift” and breast augmentation surgery. U.S. prosecutors allege Ohna later used an encrypted messaging app to contact Acebedo-Garcia, who acknowledged he was cooperating with the FBI.

In a separate proceeding, Quebec Superior Court reviewed a police surveillance photograph from May 2020 showing Ohna meeting in a Laval park with high-ranking organized crime figures, including Hells Angels members Gilles Lambert and François Vachon. Former Montreal police commander Minh Tri Truong told Radio-Canada that Ohna has frequently been the target of assassination plots.

Ohna Faces Extradition for Alleged Contract Killing

Ohna, 41, has been in custody in Quebec since his arrest last November during an FBI-led takedown targeting Wedding and his network. Defense lawyer Danièle Roy did not respond to requests for comment regarding the allegations.

U.S. authorities accuse Wedding and second-in-command Andrew Clark of operating an international network of contract killers. While Wedding was captured in Mexico in January, court documents indicate a cooperating witness is expected to testify that Ohna killed a rival gang member for Wedding in November 2023. Neither man faces charges in that specific slaying.
