Drone Attacks Target Moscow and Leningrad Region

On the night of Thursday, April 3, 2026, Moscow and the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation were subjected to drone attacks. Attacks in the Leningrad Region

The Leningrad Region experienced significant drone activity, particularly targeting industrial zones. Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that seven enemy UAVs were shot down. The industrial zone of the village named after Morozov was specifically targeted, impacting an explosives factory. Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Morozov Plant Federal State Unitary Enterprise, located in the village of Morozov, specializes in the production of explosives and was potentially the target of the attack. Damage was also reported to the roof of an unused building in the Vsevolozhsky district.

Earlier, on March 31, 2026, the Leningrad region was targeted in a large-scale drone attack, with 38 UAVs intercepted and destroyed by 6:00 a.m. Damage occurred at the port of Ust-Luga, and falling debris shattered windows in residential buildings and affected a school and a social protection center in Molodtsovo. Attacks in Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the city, and two UAVs were shot down as they approached the Russian capital. Additional drones were reportedly destroyed while heading towards Moscow, with emergency services responding to debris crash sites.

Recent Drone Activity

These attacks follow a previous incident on March 30, 2026, where the Russian city of Taganrog in the Rostov region was also targeted by UAVs. The settlement and railway station of Ust-Luga were also attacked the previous day, resulting in a fire and thick smoke.
