Miami Trace Gymnastics Claims Victory at Versailles Invitational

The Miami Trace gymnastics team showcased a strong performance at the Versailles Invitational on January 2nd, securing first place with a team score of 121.25. The Panthers edged out Northmont (119.10) for the championship, with Troy finishing third (106.15) and Badin taking fourth place (100.8).The invitational also included competitors from Washington, Versailles, ross, Greeneview, Bradford, and Fort Loramie.
Team Performance and Individual Highlights
Miami Trace demonstrated consistent improvement throughout the meet, achieving a total of 13 personal bests. This collective effort highlights the team’s growing strength and cohesion as they establish themselves as a competitive force within the Southwest District. Four athletes from the team finished within the top six in the all-around competition.
Vault
Washington’s Caitlyn Hayes led the field on vault, earning first place with a score of 8.4 for her front handspring one-and-a-half twisting vault. Miami Trace’s Tori Johnson secured second place with an 8.3, followed closely by Rhiley Keaton in third with a score of 8.1. Additional strong performances on vault included Abby McMahon finishing seventh (7.7), while Kiera Cowman and Cori Elliott tied for eighth (7.6), and Ellie Mays placed ninth (7.4).
Uneven Bars
Tori Johnson of Miami Trace claimed first place on the uneven bars with a score of 8.2. Katrina Hargrave from Greeneview finished second (8.0), and Caitlyn Hayes secured third place (7.9). Rhiley Keaton also contributed with a fifth-place finish, scoring 7.5.
Balance Beam
The balance beam competition saw Rhiley Keaton of Miami Trace achieve a fourth-place finish with a score of 8.05. Tori Johnson and Caitlyn Hayes tied for sixth place (7.8),and Kiera Cowman finished eighth (7.7).
Floor Exercise
Rhiley Keaton delivered a strong performance on floor exercise, earning fourth place with a score of 8.4. Tori Johnson followed closely in fifth place (8.35), and Ellie Mays secured 11th place (7.9).
All-Around Champion
Katrina Hargrave of Greeneview was crowned the Invitational All-Around Champion, marking her second all-around title in recent competitions.Her combined score of 32.75, achieved across all four apparatus, placed her first among the 23 competitors. hargrave also excelled individually, finishing second on floor exercise (8.65),third on balance beam (8.1),second on uneven bars (8.0), and fourth on vault (8.0).
Final All-Around Standings
In the all-around standings,Tori Johnson of Miami Trace earned third place with a score of 32.65, Rhiley Keaton finished fourth (32.05), and Caitlyn Hayes placed sixth with a score of 31.5.
