Utah State Gymnast Mya Witte Named Mountain West Student-Athlete of the Week
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnast Mya Witte has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, March 22. The award is determined by a statewide media panel. Utah State Athletics announced the honor on March 23, 2026.
Witte’s Championship Performance
This is Witte’s first America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week award. She was instrumental in Utah State securing its second consecutive Mountain West Championship on March 21, 2026, with a team score of 196.400. The Mountain West Conference reported on the Aggies’ victory.
Witte won the beam title with a career-high score of 9.950, tying for the second-highest beam score in Utah State program history. She also contributed a score of 9.700 on vault. Her performance earned her the title of Mountain West Championship MVP.

Next Competition: NCAA Regional Championships
Utah State has qualified for its 29th NCAA Regional Championships. The Aggies will compete in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 2, at noon MT against No. 7 Stanford, No. 10 Michigan, and No. 22 North Carolina. Utah State Athletics confirmed the regional assignment.
