Details of the Incident

Collier County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at approximately 9:45 p.m. On March 8, 2026, in the 11400 block of Whistler’s Cove Circle, regarding a person bleeding on the ground . Upon arrival, they discovered a pickup truck parked at an angle in a parking lot. Raul Rojas was found slumped over in the driver’s seat, while Juan Ruiz-Perez was located on the ground nearby.

Both men were transported for medical attention, but ultimately succumbed to their injuries. Ruiz-Perez was pronounced dead at the scene, while Rojas had a weak pulse and later died . Two spent shell casings were recovered from the scene .

Investigation and Findings

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the incident as a double homicide and is actively pursuing leads. As of March 17, 2026, no arrests have been made .

An investigation revealed that Juan Ruiz-Perez was found to be in possession of a white powdery substance and a pipe, which tested positive for cocaine .
