NATO Military Committee Delegation Arrives in Kyiv for High-Level Talks
NATO military representatives from all 32 alliance member states arrived in Kyiv on October 7 for an official visit, according to Latvian news outlet LA.lv. The delegation held discussions with the leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to evaluate front-line conditions and strengthen ongoing defense assistance.
Admiral Giuseppe Cava Dragone, chairman of the NATO Military Committee, announced the delegation’s arrival in a video address, noting that the trip fulfilled a commitment he made in August during talks with Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatiy. This marks the first visit by the NATO Military Committee to the Ukrainian capital in eight years, following a June visit by the North Atlantic Council delegation.
Alliance Leaders Push to Expand Military Assistance Amid Russian Aggression
Allied military representatives gathered in Kyiv to obtain operational and tactical situation assessments directly from Ukrainian command. Discussions focused on expanding military aid and addressing the immediate battlefield requirements of the Ukrainian armed forces.
Admiral Cava Dragone addressed Russia’s ongoing military campaign and hostile actions directed at alliance territory. Faced with Russia’s prolonged aggression against Ukraine and reckless hybrid operations in NATO countries, we stand unwaveringly shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine in its heroic fight for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the future of its people,
he stated.
The alliance official dismissed attempts to weaken Western resolve through sabotage, cyberattacks, and airspace violations. To those who believe that through sabotage, cyberattacks, and violations of NATO country airspace they will manage to undermine this support and our determination, I answer: you will fail! NATO’s support for Ukraine continues to grow, and our unity is stronger than ever before,
Cava Dragone emphasized.
NATO Prepares Asymmetric Responses to Russian Provocations
The NATO Military Committee chairman highlighted that Europe is confronting a full-scale war alongside persistent hybrid attacks. He stated that the necessary response involves scaling up defensive support for Ukraine while confirming that non-public, asymmetric answers to Russian provocations are currently in preparation.
