Nevada Men’s Tennis Falls to Cal Poly 6-1

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Nevada Men’s Tennis team suffered its first defeat of the 2026 season on Friday night, losing 6-1 to Cal Poly.

Cal Poly (3-1) secured the doubles point with close victories at the No. 2 adn No. 3 positions. Nevada’s Rayen Hermassi and Axel Huysmans fell in a tiebreaker 7-6 (2) to Jack Cross and Sean Kamyshev at No. 2, giving Cal Poly the initial lead.

Singles play proved challenging for Nevada (4-1). Aaron Eliscu of Cal Poly extended the Mustangs’ lead with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Nicolas Recoura at No. 6. Cal Poly then clinched the match with straight-set victories at Nos. 5,3,and 4.

Rémy Trégourès was the sole Nevada player to secure a win, battling to a third-set tiebreaker victory of 10-8.

Nevada will continue its California road trip with a neutral-court match against LMU in San Luis Obispo on Saturday at 2 p.m.
