Cyclists navigating Vienna’s 23rd district now have access to a dedicated new tool tailored specifically for Liesing. Developed by the local project group Radfahren in Liesing as part of the Grätzllabor initiative, the newly released cycling map provides an updated, localized overview of the area’s bike paths, infrastructure, and regional connections.
Detailed Mapping for Liesing’s Cycling Infrastructure
According to the project group Radfahren in Liesing, the map builds upon the existing standard Vienna cycling map but narrows its focus to offer a clearer layout of the 23rd district. The newly compiled resource details the local bicycle network, one-way streets, counter-flow cycling permissions, and elevation contours. Planners also integrated newly designed and expanded bike lanes into the layout to reflect recent infrastructure updates across the district.
The development process spanned more than six months.
Regional Routes and Cross-Border Connections
Beyond municipal streets, the publication highlights continuing pathways that link Vienna directly to regional bike routes in Lower Austria.
The map is available immediately at events hosted by Grätzllabor Liesing. Physical copies can also be obtained directly from the Liesing district office located at Perchtoldsdorfer Straße 2, 2nd floor, as well as select local bicycle shops including 2rad Treff Huber on Breitenfurter Straße 270, e-Motion on Lemböckgasse 53-55, and Bernhard Kohl – Fahrrad & E-Bike on Triester Straße 282/284.
