Dance enthusiasts in Saint-Nazaire, Loire-Atlantique, have a new outlet this autumn as the “Les Muses à Talons” association launches heels dance classes focusing on cabaret attitudes, according to a report published by Rédaction Guérande on September 6, 2026.
Founded by instructor and president Alexandra Dumont—who performs under the stage name Accroche Cœurs—the association introduces choreography incorporating props such as chairs, canes, hats, and gloves. Dumont brings years of experience from the Parisian cabaret troupe “Les Délicieuses,” an ensemble she continues to perform with, with a scheduled representation coming up in October 2026.
Cabaret Dance Training in Saint-Nazaire
Dumont moved to Saint-Nazaire four years prior to the September 2026 launch to share her specific performance background. While heels classes, street heels, and general heels instruction exist across the region, Dumont stated that she wanted to establish a curriculum centered explicitly on classical cabaret styling, drawing musical inspiration from artists spanning from Édith Piaf to Beyoncé, according to Rédaction Guérande.
After teaching in Pornichet for two years, Dumont formalized her own association in May 2026. The association’s name stems from the women who inspired her career, with the core philosophy that individuals can embrace self-confidence and self-image through movement, as reported by Rédaction Guérande.
Class Structure and Accessibility
Classes at Les Muses à Talons are open to both women and men aged 18 and older, with no prior dance experience required. Dumont emphasizes a non-competitive environment focused on personal confidence and body positivity rather than recital pressure or performance outcomes, according to Rédaction Guérande.
To introduce participants to the style, the association scheduled two trial classes for beginners on Wednesday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 20:00 at the Salle Gambetta (right side) in Saint-Nazaire.
