Fire crews deployed multiple vehicles alongside an aerial platform to reach rising smoke and flames. According to the Cuerpo de Bomberos, firefighters brought the fire under control in a matter of minutes and confirmed it was not a reignition of the earlier major incident, which had been fully contained.
Friday’s incident affected a 50-square-meter section of the primary structure, which spans a large portion of the property and functions as part of a supermarket. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.

The Friday night emergency follows a significantly larger disaster at the same commercial footprint on Saturday, August 29. During the late-night hours of that weekend event, the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Costa Rica deployed extintor units, a platform, rescue vehicles, and a water tanker to combat a fire consuming a large warehouse structure located 100 meters west of the Armería Polini, according to reporting by El Observador CR.
That August 29 structure measured approximately 1,200 square meters, with flames engulfing roughly half of the building. Press officers from the fire department characterized the August event as a fire of “grandes proporciones” after receiving the initial emergency alert shortly before 9:00 p.m. Advanced life support ambulances were also dispatched to the scene during the August response.

During both the August 29 incident and Friday’s secondary flare-up, the Cuerpo de Bomberos utilized specialized aerial platforms to project water streams directly into elevated sections of the affected properties.
While the August fire required a multi-unit defensive posture involving heavy water tankers and advanced medical support teams, Friday’s response required a much smaller footprint.
