United Airlines Announces New Nonstop Flight Connecting Columbus and Los Angeles
Columbus, Ohio – United airlines will launch a daily nonstop flight between John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on March 29, 2026. The announcement, met wiht enthusiasm from Columbus Regional Airport Authority leaders, addresses a significant demand for direct travel options between Central Ohio and the West Coast.
The new service will depart Columbus at 7:25 a.m., with return flights leaving Los Angeles at 11:00 a.m. Bookings for the route will be available starting this Friday. This addition marks a substantial improvement in connectivity for the hundreds of passengers traveling between the two regions daily, especially as business relationships between Central Ohio and Los Angeles continue to expand.
“This service is a significant win,” stated Betsy Taylor, Manager of Passenger Airline Business Development at the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “Additional service to Los angeles was a top priority, and we appreciate United Airlines recognizing this demand and connecting us directly to key West Coast destinations.”
This expansion follows United Airlines’ previous announcement in November regarding increased service between Columbus and San Francisco, which will see flights increase to twice daily beginning in May 2026. With this latest addition, United airlines now provides direct connections from Columbus to all of its domestic hubs, facilitating access to a global network of destinations.
