Solano County residents looking to play badminton or pickleball no longer need to drive to Emeryville or Sacramento following the opening of The Club in Vacaville, a 35,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor sports facility located at 3777 Vaca Valley Parkway. General Manager Brett Stephens stated that the venue bridges a geographic gap for local athletes, eliminating the need for a 40-minute to hour-and-a-half commute just to play a match.
Facility Features and Court Layout
The facility houses six indoor badminton courts alongside 14 indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, making it the first indoor badminton facility in Solano County and the largest pickleball facility in the county. According to Stephens, the venue accommodates players of all skill levels, from beginners trying the sport for the first time to experienced competitors seeking advanced training environments.
Technology plays a central role in the facility’s setup. Select pickleball courts feature video recording equipment and AI-assisted review tools designed to analyze player technique, court positioning, movement, shot selection, and overall match performance. The venue also operates a pickleball simulator that Stephens identified as one of the only simulators for pickleball on the West Coast.
Coaching Staff and Community Integration
The coaching staff includes five coaches, including Stephens, a PCI-certified pickleball instructor who brings 10 years of pickleball experience and 25 years in racket sports to the role. The facility functions as a community hub designed to support players from their first introduction to the sport through competitive play.
Management plans to introduce tournaments, leagues, and expanded sports offerings including volleyball and table tennis as operations grow. The venue also features beverage options to support community events and gatherings.
