The new Relaqs The concept store opened its doors after an intensive period of building and furnishing at the Brakelsesteenweg 142-144 in Ninove. On Friday morning, October 2, there was a hectic rush in the new building, where Andy Peelman and Tine Kissling were making the final preparations for the grand opening of the premises.
Construction work started on March 1st, transforming the entire project from an empty site into a fully-fledged, finished store in just seven months. Despite the hectic pace and hard work, the initiators are looking forward optimistically to the upcoming opening weekend.
From Empty Site to Two Floors
The realization of the store required enormous efforts from the team. They started digging on March 1st; in seven months, we have evolved from nothing into a finished store. With good people around you, you can work wonders.
, Andy Peelman explains about the construction phase.
His wife Tine Kissling acknowledges that the run-up was very nerve-wracking. On Monday I was super stressed because I thought it would never work out, but in the end, it is working out. We have hardly been home and you can feel and see the pressure, of course, although Andy always remains enthusiastic and positive.
, according to Kissling. Although many who entered the store doubted whether the schedule was feasible, rescheduling took place over the course of the week.
Grand Experience and Opening Hours
According to the owners, the revamped concept brings together more than just shoes under one roof. The assortment and layout have been thoroughly renewed and are spread across two floors, including a barbershop, Bobo, Atelier Rebul, clothing, a gift shop, and the familiar sale of handbags, suitcases, and shoes.

The opening weekend is being handled on a grand scale with various activities. We are already making the experience as big as possible with lots of performances, a bouncy castle, a fashion show, drinks and snacks… I am very curious.
, states Andy Peelman, who looks forward to the reactions of visitors. The venue opens its doors to the public on Saturday, October 3 at 10 a.m., preceded by a private reception on Friday evening at 6 p.m.
