About the Special Care Clinic

The Special Care Clinic will serve individuals who require modified dental treatment due to physical, medical, developmental, or cognitive conditions. The clinic aims to reduce barriers to care by offering longer appointment times, specialized equipment, and trained staff experienced in special care dentistry.

Location and Facilities

Squire Hall, located at 3435 Main Street in Buffalo, NY 14214, houses the UB Dental clinic and provides outpatient dental services to the Western New York community. The facility currently offers general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental hygiene services, operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. To 4 p.m. The new Special Care Clinic will operate within this existing infrastructure, leveraging Squire Hall’s clinical spaces and patient intake systems.

Patient Access and Eligibility

Patients interested in receiving care at the Special Care Clinic will need to schedule a new patient screening appointment, consistent with UB Dental’s current intake process. This evaluation determines individual dental needs and suitability for treatment. While most screened patients are accepted for care, those requiring alternative options will be provided with appropriate referrals. Individuals with Medicaid insurance are not required to pay the standard $54 new patient screening fee, which covers record establishment, comprehensive evaluation, and panoramic radiographs when needed.
