Storm Systems Bring Varied Weather to Arizona and Oregon

Arizona and Oregon are experiencing a series of weather changes as storm systems move through the region. Arizona will observe a mix of sunshine and potential rain, while Oregon is bracing for snow in the high country. Temperatures will fluctuate throughout the week, with a significant cool down expected in both states before a warming trend begins.

Arizona Weather Outlook

The third in a series of storm systems is approaching Arizona, bringing partly sunny skies and temperatures in the 40s this morning, clearing to sunny skies with a high of 65 degrees this afternoon. Winds will be relatively light, between 10 and 15 mph out of the southwest. A storm system off the Oregon coast will impact northern Oregon this evening and overnight, and bring a near 30% chance of rain to the Valley overnight and into early Friday morning.

Friday will be mostly dry in the Valley, with temperatures remaining cool in the low to mid 60s. Saturday morning will be particularly cold across the state, with Valley temperatures reaching their lowest levels in over a month. Outlying areas could see temperatures in the mid 30s, while areas closer to Metro Phoenix will be in the low to mid 40s. A warming trend is expected over the weekend, with temperatures reaching the low 70s on Saturday and low 80s on Sunday. This warming trend is expected to continue into next week, potentially reaching the mid to upper 80s.

Oregon Weather Outlook

A storm system currently off the coast of Oregon will sweep through the northern half of the state this evening and overnight, bringing snow to the high country. A Winter Weather Advisory or Winter Storm Warning is in effect for many Northern Arizona communities from this evening through tomorrow morning. Flagstaff is forecast to receive an additional 4 to 8 inches of snow.
