His career, spanning 11 seasons from 2001 to 2011, was defined by record-breaking performances, elite versatility, and sustained dominance at the highest level of professional football. Drafted fifth overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2001 NFL Draft, Tomlinson immediately made an impact. He quickly established himself as a dual-threat weapon, capable of dominating both as a rusher and a receiver out of the backfield. Over his career, he amassed 13,684 rushing yards and 145 rushing touchdowns, although also contributing 4,772 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns. Tomlinson’s peak came in 2006, a season widely regarded as one of the greatest individual performances by a running back in NFL history. That year, he led the league in rushing yards (1,815), rushing touchdowns (28), total touchdowns from scrimmage (31), and points scored (186).
