Niederbachem Flea Market Registration and Digital Mapping

Participants signed up using a QR code featured on digital and paper posters distributed throughout the municipality, with registration managed by organizer Brankica Assenmacher. Once registered, sellers are added to a messaging service group, and their locations are pinned on a digital map designed to guide visitors. Color-coded dots on the map separate the locations into specific categories, including rummage items as well as food and beverages. While Assenmacher originally set an application deadline for August 12, the flexibility of the system prompted her to drop the cutoff and continue accepting late sign-ups.

Community Participation and Local Vendor Offerings

Local residents are clearing out attics, closets, and storage rooms to stock their driveways with goods. Participant Patrick Fortyr, 37, plans to sell children’s clothing, books, and toys alongside his family, noting that the event offers a vital chance to chat with neighbors in an area where central meeting spots are scarce. His six-year-old son Henry plans to sell puzzles, Schleich animals, plush toys, and play tools to fund purchases of his own. Assenmacher’s household will offer bicycles, goalkeeper clothing, games, and a bread-making machine.

Charitable Impact and Upcoming Local Events

Beyond local commerce, several participants intend to donate portions of their proceeds to the Niederbachem youth welfare facility Leuchtturm and the “Wünsche wagen” project, according to Assenmacher. The event strictly prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages. Visitors can find QR codes for registration and maps on community web pages, at the Niederbachem Austraße and Berkum EKZ bus stops, at the local post office, and inside the Panzer bakery. The community celebrations will continue shortly after the flea market, with the Baachemer Straßenfest opening on Mehlemer Straße on September 19 at 15 p.m.
