Nittedal, norway – A devastating house fire in Nittedal on Saturday morning resulted in the confirmed deaths of two individuals, according to the East Police District.
Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 03:02 local time. Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of flames emanating from a residential property.
“Neighbors observed flames coming out of the house,” stated operations manager Henrik Larsen to NRK.Upon arrival, firefighters found the home wholly engulfed in flames.
Tragically, first responders discovered the bodies of two individuals inside the burning structure shortly after arriving on the scene. While formal identification is still pending, police believe the deceased are the registered occupants of the residence.
“It doesn’t take many minutes before the fire service arrives and confirms that two people have been found dead,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
As of 5:00 AM Saturday, firefighters were still actively working to extinguish the remaining flames. Fortunately, the fire was contained and did not spread to neighboring buildings.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and an inquiry is underway to determine the origin of the blaze.The next of kin have been notified of the tragic loss.
