Nonkels Season Three Finale Airs With Viewership
“Don’t be surprised if you see Rik,” the production warned before filming began on the final season of the Flemish comedy series Uncles. Sunday evening marks the broadcast of the final episode of the third season of the popular Play series, bringing the saga of the Persyn family to a close. On-set reporting from Gazet van Antwerpen reveals that actor Rik Verheye spent nearly the entire final season riding a neon-green electric scooter in character as Willy Persyn, sporting a triple chin and a hanging mouth.
Uncles Season Three Exceeds Viewership Expectations
The third season of Uncles draws an average of 775,000 viewers for Sunday evening broadcasts, including delayed viewing figures. When reruns are added, that average climbs to 973,000 viewers, according to Gazet van Antwerpen, with Streamz platform views not yet included in that total. Actor Rik Verheye noted that the cast knew they were making something good, though the popularity exceeded initial expectations.
Bruno Vanden Broecke Joins the Cast
Actor Bruno Vanden Broecke joins the main ensemble for the final season after declining an earlier, smaller offer. Vanden Broecke said he turned down the initial invitation because he wanted a prominent role wearing a suit. To master the West-Vlaanderen dialect, the Sint-Niklaas native worked with regional language coach Liesa Naert and co-star Jelle De Beule, Gazet van Antwerpen reported.
