“Nord bei Nordwest” Gears Up for New Episodes with Filming on Fehmarn and in Hamburg

Fans of the popular German crime series “Nord bei Nordwest” can look forward to two new installments, currently being filmed on location in Fehmarn, Travemünde, and Hamburg. The series, known for its captivating mysteries and picturesque North Sea setting, is expected to release the new episodes in early 2027, with two more already in the planning stages for 2027 North German Radio.

New Cases on the Horizon: “False Policemen” and “The Beautiful Jens”

The upcoming films, tentatively titled “False Policemen” and “The Beautiful Jens,” promise to deliver the signature blend of suspense and local charm that has made “Nord bei Nordwest” a long-running success. The series, which premiered in 2014, follows former Hamburg police officer Hauke Jacobs, played by Hinnerk Schönemann, as he navigates life as a veterinarian in the small coastal village of Schwanitz while assisting the local police with their investigations IMDb.

“False Policemen” – A Deceptive Scheme

The plot of “False Policemen” centers around a troubling scam targeting the residents of Schwanitz. An elderly fisherman falls victim to the “grandchild trick,” where fraudsters impersonate a family member in distress and demand money. As Hannah Wagner (Jana Klinge) and Hauke Jacobs delve into the case, veterinarian Jule Christiansen (Marleen Lohse) finds herself unexpectedly involved when she recognizes a former classmate among the perpetrators.

“The Beautiful Jens” – A Suspicious Demise

“The Beautiful Jens” introduces a new character, chiropractor Jens Schinkel, who enjoys a positive reputation within the community. However, when one of his patients is found dead under suspicious circumstances, suspicion falls upon Schinkel. The investigation intensifies with a second murder, and Hannah Wagner finds herself in a delicate position, providing Schinkel with an alibi ARD Mediathek.

Returning Cast and Creative Team

Hinnerk Schönemann, Jana Klinge, and Marleen Lohse will reprise their roles as Hauke Jacobs, Hannah Wagner, and Jule Christiansen, respectively. They will be joined by familiar faces including Cem Ali Gültekin, Stephan A. Tölle, Regine Hentschel, Victoria Fleer, and Joshy Peters. Dietrich Hollinder Bäumer and Vladimir Korneev will star in leading roles in “False Policemen” and “The Beautiful Jens,” respectively. Felix Herzogenrath is directing both films, with scripts penned by Petra Lüschow (“False Policemen”) and Niels Holle (“The Beautiful Jens”).
