North Allegheny Shatters PIAA Record in 200-Yard Medley Relay

The North Allegheny High School swimming team achieved a historic feat on Wednesday, setting a new PIAA record in the 200-yard medley relay at the 2026 PIAA 3A State Championships held at Bucknell University. The team of Danny Lesinski, Alex Harbaugh, Mason Shantz, and Zachary Totin completed the race in a time of 1:29:19, surpassing the previous record of 1:29:74 set by Upper St. Clair in 2015 [1].

Record-Breaking Performance

This victory marks a significant achievement for North Allegheny, as they not only broke the state record but also surpassed their own school record of 1:30:55, which was established in 2017 [1]. The swimmers are defending PIAA 3A Champions and currently lead the championships after the first day of competition [1], [2].

Additional Medalists

Beyond the relay triumph, North Allegheny also saw success in individual events. Diver Ethan Maravich secured a silver medal, and Anthony Farrah finished in 8th place [1].

The second day of the PIAA 3A State Championships will commence on Thursday with preliminary heats beginning at 8:05 a.m. For boys and 10:55 a.m. For girls. Consolations and final rounds for the boys are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the girls’ consolations and finals at 7:30 p.m. [1].
