The host of NOVA Nikolay Doinov gave an official explanation on air about the request for the identity card of the mother of Nikolay Zlatkov (Ralitsa Asenova) last night, which provoked a wave of reactions on social networks. Doinov addressed the viewers this evening already at the beginning of the “Interview in NOVA News”.
“Before we start today’s conversation, let me say a few words about yesterday’s interview – with the mother of one of the victims in the terrible story, which has been the number one topic in the country in recent days. Showing an identity document momentarily shifted the focus from the answers that society is looking for about the Petrokhan tragedy, Nikolay Doinov began.
“We owe you the truth. Yesterday evening we had quite a heavy broadcast. Together with us, you, the viewers, witnessed in real time the story of a woman who lost her child. During the central broadcast, our team was contacted by phone by Mrs. Ralitsa Asenova, who told us that she is the mother of Nikolay Zlatkov, one of the six victims,” he commented.
“She wanted to speak to NOVA. Her only condition was that it should happen at this moment, immediately and only live. So that her words would not be changed. Until now, there was no public information about her, we could not connect the name to a person. We had indirect data, but also a few minutes to check,” said the presenter.
“We were aware of the risk, but we took it precisely because of all the answers we are looking for. The events unfolded literally before your eyes in the following minutes.
