Recent Renovations and Legal Issues

In 2022, Djokovic began renovations on the property without securing the necessary permits from the Marbella Council. The unauthorized works, which included a basement parking area and a porch, violated local regulations regarding height, number of floors, and boundary distances. He was issued two fines of €5,000 (£4,284/$5,400 USD) each and ordered to demolish parts of the renovations. Further fines, up to 12 more, were threatened if he didn’t comply. The City Council of Marbella has been pursuing a process to restore planning legality since February 2024.
