Northeast Texas Community College has scheduled an initial interest meeting for a Boston travel study opportunity planned for spring 2027. Organizers will outline itinerary options, anticipated costs, and academic credit opportunities for students and community members during the upcoming informational session.

The initial interest meeting takes place Monday, Sept. 28, at 12:30 p.m. in room H-107, according to NTCC organizers. The session will cover the tentative travel window of May 23–27, 2027, alongside financial details, registration timelines, payment options, and potential student scholarship availability.
Potential itinerary highlights for the New England trip include major historical and cultural landmarks such as the Freedom Trail, the Massachusetts State House, the Black Heritage Trail, the USS Constitution, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Organizers are also considering side excursions to Harvard University, Salem, Lexington, and Concord.
Academic Credit and Eligibility
Students participating in the travel study opportunity may earn college credit across multiple academic disciplines, including government, history, English, mass communications, art appreciation, and photography. Enrolled students will complete faculty-guided coursework and structured activities throughout the trip.
The travel study opportunity is open to NTCC students, faculty, staff, and local community members. Community participants can join the trip without enrolling in a course or pursuing college credit. Dual-credit students may also participate provided a parent or guardian accompanies them on the journey. Attendance at the Sept. 28 interest meeting does not require participants to commit to the trip.
