Oakland Golden Grizzlies Prepare to Host Green Bay Phoenix

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Golden Grizzlies men’s basketball team (14-13, 10-6 Horizon League) returns to the OU Credit Union O’rena to face the Green Bay Phoenix on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. ET. Oakland is coming off a 93-69 loss to Robert Morris on Sunday, despite the return of forward Isaac Garrett from injury. Senior Ziare Wells led the Golden Grizzlies with 19 points and three steals, although senior Brody Robinson added 16 points and seven assists, marking his fourth consecutive game with at least 16 points. Garrett contributed seven rebounds and a block in his first game in three weeks. Fifth-year Michael Houge scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds before fouling out, extending his streak of double-digit points to seven consecutive games.

Preston Ruedlinger added 12 points, and C.J. O’Hara contributed 10 points in that game. Green Bay leads the league in scoring defense, allowing 75.1 points per game in conference play.

Oakland secured a decisive 88-63 victory over Green Bay earlier in January. Tuburu Niavalurua led the Golden Grizzlies with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Isaac Garrett also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ziare Wells added 14 points and three steals in that contest.
