United Bulgarian Bank (UBB), a unit of KBC Group, has been named the best fixed-income institution in Bulgaria at the Euromoney Markets Awards 2026, according to reports by business.dir.bg and money.bg.

The Euromoney Markets Awards 2026 recognized UBB for shaping the future of global markets and supporting sustainable market execution, business.dir.bg reported. British magazine Euromoney highlighted the bank’s strong focus on Bulgarian government securities, dependable market access, and practical risk management solutions. UBB tailored its core strategy toward institutional and corporate investors in Bulgaria while upgrading order execution and post-trade infrastructure.
The bank expanded its footprint in the domestic debt sector during the reporting period. According to money.bg, UBB’s share of primary market emissions climbed from 23.9% in the first half of 2025 to 26.2% for the full year. Total primary market issuance reached 1.7 billion euros during that time frame.

The fixed-income accolade follows a succession of international and domestic honours secured by UBB throughout 2026. In July, business.dir.bg noted that the lender captured three separate trophies at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence: Best ESG Bank in Bulgaria, Best Digital Bank in Bulgaria, and Best Corporate Bank in Bulgaria. Global Finance similarly designated UBB as the best innovative bank and best consumer digital bank in Bulgaria for 2026, alongside a market share prize from the Bank of the Year Association.
