Benker’s competitive journey in table tennis spanned decades, marked by longevity and sustained athleticism. According to regional sports reports, his final official matches took place in June 2025 at the German Senior Individual Championships for the 85-and-over age category. Prior to that appearance, he played for Stammbach in the over-70 men’s team division in 2024. For years, he honed his craft in the league for TTV Schauenstein until 2019, subsequently maintaining his competitive edge by traveling to numerous regional tournaments and Senior World Championships.
