According to footage released by the Perry Township Police Department, an officer intervened in the upper stands to remove the animal from the crowd.
Bodycam Footage Shows Stadium Rescue
During Ohio State’s home matchup against Ball State on Saturday afternoon, an unexpected visitor appeared underneath a row of bleachers in the upper deck of Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. According to the Perry Township Police Department bodycam video, an officer responded to the stands while the game continued on the field.
The responding officer first took steps to calm the animal before executing the removal. As shown in the video footage, the officer located an empty beer box, used it to scoop up the squirrel, and successfully carried the animal out of the stands to safety.
