Teenager Killed in Electric Scooter Crash in Delaware County, Ohio
A 17-year-aged girl from Lewis Center, Ohio, died Friday evening after being struck by an SUV while riding an electric scooter in Delaware County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating the incident, which occurred on State Route 750 near East Powell Road around 3:43 p.m.
Details of the Crash
According to the OSHP, the girl was traveling on the right shoulder of State Route 750 when she was hit by a 2025 Mazda CX-50. The driver of the Mazda, a 22-year-old man, reportedly traveled outside of his marked lane and struck the scooter. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mazda CX-50 was not injured in the crash.
Investigation Underway
The OSHP stated that impairment and distraction are currently unknown factors in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
