Olivia von Platen Announces Pregnancy Following Miscarriage

Influencer Olivia von Platen and her husband, former Porsche board member Detlev von Platen, are expecting a baby in October 2026, just months after publicly sharing the heartbreak of a miscarriage in December 2025.

Sharing the News on Instagram

Von Platen announced her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a video that juxtaposed a clip from her December post detailing the loss of her previous pregnancy with a recent ultrasound recording. In her December post, she described the devastation of discovering her baby no longer had a heartbeat, stating, “Last December we missed a sound so terribly. A sound that took the ground beneath our feet when it was no longer there.”

The recent Instagram post features the sound of a new, healthy heartbeat. “Hello baby. Hopefully we can hold you in our arms in October 2026,” she wrote. Von Platen expressed her gratitude, stating, “And with every blow, not only a small miracle grows, but also our gratitude.” She continued, “After sadness comes hope. After silence comes life again.”

A Quick Return to Pregnancy

In an interview, Von Platen revealed she was surprised by how quickly she became pregnant again, noting it occurred just five weeks after the miscarriage procedure. She intentionally chose to share her pregnancy early to destigmatize the topic and offer hope to other women. “I briefly considered whether I would make it public later this time, but I wanted to avoid one thing last time – namely that it was a taboo topic. Other women should see that it can work quickly again,” she explained.

Von Platen shared that her daughter had offered a comforting perspective after the miscarriage, saying, “It’s the baby that’s coming back.” This sentiment resonated with Von Platen, and she felt a sense of hope and anticipation.

Reduced Fear and Increased Symptoms

Despite the previous loss, Von Platen reports feeling less fear during this pregnancy. She attributes this to experiencing stronger symptoms, such as frequent nausea and fatigue, compared to her previous pregnancy. “Many people have told me that pregnancy will never be the same again and that you always live with fear. Personally, I don’t feel this fear so much now. This may also be because I have extremely strong symptoms compared to the previous pregnancy,” she stated.

Family Support and Increased Monitoring

Von Platen’s daughters are excited about the new baby and shared the news with everyone. She is balancing the demands of pregnancy with caring for her two young daughters. To alleviate anxiety, Von Platen has requested more frequent ultrasound scans from her gynecologist to hear the baby’s heartbeat.

Pregnancy as a Podcast Topic

The topic of pregnancy will be discussed in an upcoming episode of the podcast “A & O Hotline,” co-hosted by Von Platen and Anahita Rehbein, former Miss Germany. The episode will explore the varying experiences of pregnancy, including Rehbein’s symptom-free pregnancy, and highlight that a healthy pregnancy can manifest differently for each individual.
