American Cup Set to Return in 2026,Previewing LA28 Mixed Team Event

USA Gymnastics announced Monday (November 17) the return of the American Cup competition to the gymnastics calendar. The event, first held in 1976 when Nadia Comaneci took the title months before making Olympic history at Montreal 1976, was last held in March 2020.

Throughout its history, the American Cup has featured various formats, including both apparatus and all-around International Gymnastics Federation World Cup competitions.

In 2026, the American Cup will head to suburban Las Vegas on March 7, featuring eight countries competing in a mixed team event.
