Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Arrives in London for State Visit

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in London on Monday afternoon for a four-day state visit to the United Kingdom. Upon his arrival at Stansted Airport, the Sultan was received by Lord Henry Hood, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Head of the Mission of Honour. Badr bin Mohammed Al Manthari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom, and members of the Omani Embassy in London also welcomed the delegation at the airport alongside British officials. The visit comes during a state visit to the United Kingdom, setting the stage for high-level meetings and events in London and Windsor.

Official Welcome Ceremony at Windsor Castle

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will host an official reception ceremony for the Sultan of Oman on Tuesday at Windsor Castle. The Sultan will travel to the Royal Dais on Dachet Road in Windsor, where a Royal Salute will be fired from Home Park and the Tower of London to mark the occasion.

Following the arrival, the Sultan, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales will take part in a carriage procession to Windsor Castle. Because Buckingham Palace remains under renovation, the state visit events are hosted primarily at Windsor. Upon arriving in the Quadrangle, a Guard of Honour will offer a Royal Salute while regimental bands play both the Omani and British national anthems.

The Sultan and King Charles will inspect the Guard before joining royal family members to view a military parade. Lunch will follow in the State Dining Room, accompanied by a special exhibition of Oman-related items in the Green Drawing Room. King Charles and Queen Camilla will host a state banquet on Tuesday evening, where both leaders are scheduled to deliver speeches.

Meetings at Downing Street and Guildhall Banquet

On Wednesday morning, King Charles and Queen Camilla will bid farewell to the Sultan of Oman before he travels back to London to meet with Prime Minister Andy Burnham at Number 10 Downing Street. Later that day, the Sultan will attend a Guildhall banquet hosted by the Lady Mayor alongside the Duke of Gloucester.

Regeneration Tour at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

The Sultan will conclude his British trip on Thursday with a visit to Here East at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. During the visit, he will observe place-based transformation and urban regeneration projects established after the London 2012 Olympic Games. After viewing an energy and renewables showcase, the Sultan will depart for Oman from Stansted Airport.
