A fatal multi-vehicle collision in Cass County, North Dakota, left a 49-year-old Christine man dead and three others injured after a high-speed vehicle pursuit ended in an intersection crash, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle, identified as a 19-year-old man from Grand Forks, turned off his headlights and fled along Cass County Road 14.
Intersection Crash Claims Life of Christine Man
As the pursuit approached the intersection of Cass County Road 14 and County Road 81, the 19-year-old driver ran a stop sign, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The suspect’s vehicle T-boned another car in the intersection, killing the driver instantly. The victim was identified by authorities as a 49-year-old resident of Christine, North Dakota.
Troopers confirmed that everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact.
Injuries and Suspect Status
Following the collision, the 19-year-old driver and two juvenile passengers inside the fleeing vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported all three individuals to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident to determine what criminal charges will be filed against the 19-year-old Grand Forks driver.
