Opel is bringing its newest design study, the Sports Tourer eXperimental Concept (STX Concept), to the Paris Motor Show, according to an official company announcement. The concept car previews the brand’s vision for future aerodynamic estate cars and outlines the next iteration of the German manufacturer’s design language. Alongside the debut of the STX Concept at the Mondial de l’Auto on stand A42 in hall 4, Opel is showcasing its GEN4 Formula E race car and the newly orderable Corsa GSE hot hatch.
The STX Concept highlights a body style that Opel helped pioneer in Europe, dating back to the introduction of the Olympia Rekord Caravan in 1953. According to Opel CEO Florian Huettl, the show car demonstrates an aerodynamically efficient profile that will inform upcoming production models.
Opel GSE 27FE and Formel-E Ambitions
Motorsport forms a central pillar of the Opel display in Paris, anchored by the unveiling of the Opel GSE 27FE. Designed for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship 2026/27 season, the GEN4 race car features permanent all-wheel drive, a peak output exceeding 800 horsepower, and a recuperation capacity of up to 700 kilowatts, according to team specifications. Drivers Mitch Evans and Théo Pourchaire headline the roster for the Opel GSE Formula E Team as preparations continue for the upcoming electric racing calendar.
Bringing track technology to showrooms, the Corsa GSE makes its public debut following the start of its order period. Developed by engineers in Rüsselsheim alongside the motorsport division, the hot hatch shares its powertrain architecture with the Mokka GSE and the Mokka GSE Rally. According to technical data provided by Opel, the vehicle generates 207 kilowatts (281 horsepower) and 345 Newton-meters of torque, accelerating from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.5 seconds.
Production Lineup and Practicality
The brand’s current production fleet is anchored by vehicles like the Astra Sports Tourer, which maintains the company’s tradition of flexible estate configurations. Offering up to 1,634 liters of cargo volume, the Astra serves both family transport and commercial fleet requirements across European markets. Under the stewardship of parent company Stellantis NV, Opel continues to roll out electrified variants across its multi-energy vehicle platforms, maintaining availability for fully electric powertrains across its core model range.
Chief Executive Officer Florian Huettl, marketing chief Rebecca Reinermann, and design chief Mark Adams are scheduled to present the brand’s latest developments during the official press conference in Paris.
