Greyhound Research CEO Sanchit Vir Gogia describes this as the emergence of a new “execution fabric that sits between human intent and enterprise systems.” This new layer of enterprise AI architecture could prove more transformative than the historic transition to cloud computing.

Competitive Dynamics and Market Shifts

The urgency behind this shift is becoming increasingly apparent in competitive data. According to enterprise spend management software vendor Ramp, adoption of Anthropic’s AI services within businesses on its platform has dramatically increased, jumping from one in 25 businesses a year ago to nearly one in four today. Anthropic is now winning approximately 70% of head-to-head matchups against OpenAI in new enterprise deals.

OpenAI and the Agent Orchestration Platform

OpenAI is actively contributing to this trend with the launch of Frontier, an agent orchestration platform. They have likewise established partnerships with Accenture, BCG, Capgemini, and McKinsey to integrate their technology into existing business workflows. This move signals a broader industry trend towards embedding AI agents directly into core enterprise processes.

Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst at Greyhound Research, emphasizes that this evolution goes beyond simple product consolidation. He characterizes it as a “forced convergence driven by internal fragmentation, competitive pressure, and the need to monetize where value is actually realized.” Gogia further asserts that the true value is shifting towards where intent translates into action – specifically, workflows, rather than mere conversations.

As AI agents become more capable of independently managing complex tasks, organizations will need to adapt their strategies and infrastructure to fully leverage this new potential.
