Normal Opens Third Irish Store in Cork City Centre
Danish retailer Normal is set to open its third store in Ireland and first outside Dublin on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The new outlet will be located in Cork city centre at Queen’s Old Castle on Grand Parade, marking the brand’s expansion beyond the capital.
The store will open at 8am, with special promotions planned for the launch. The first 10 customers in line will each receive a €30 Normal gift card redeemable in-store. 1,000 goodie bags will be available for early visitors, and shoppers will have the chance to win a pallet of Normal products valued at €334 through the “TADAAA Ticket” competition, inspired by the classic “Golden Ticket” concept.
Normal describes its offering as “completely normal products at abnormal prices,” stocking a rotating range of branded cleaning and beauty products, snacks, homeware, and international items including American candy, K-Beauty from South Korea, and J-Beauty from Japan. The chain adds approximately 100 new items to its shelves every week.
The Cork location is expected to create between 30 and 35 jobs in the city centre. The site previously housed an Argos store that closed six years ago, leaving the Queen’s Old Castle building vacant before Normal’s move-in.
Normal opened its first Irish store in November 2023 at the Ilac Centre in Dublin, followed by a second location in Northside Shopping Centre, Coolock, in early 2026. With over 1,000 stores across Europe, the brand continues its rapid expansion in Ireland with this Cork launch.
Customers can engage with the brand through Normal’s app, which allows users to earn “Uniqoins” via in-app games and challenges redeemable for products in-store. A digital voucher will similarly be accessible via QR code or by signing up on the Normal website for a free product during the first week of opening.
