Oregon State Wrestling Claims Back-to-Back Pac-12 Championships

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Oregon State Beavers secured their second consecutive Pac-12 Wrestling Championship on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Mott Athletics Center. This victory marks the program’s 26th conference title in history and the third in the last four years under head coach Chris Pendleton .

Beavers Dominate Individual Titles

Oregon State wrestlers claimed four individual weight class titles, propelling the team to a total of 92.5 points. Little Rock finished second with 81 points, followed by Cal Poly with 73 points and Cal State Bakersfield with 27 points .

The individual champions for Oregon State were:

  • Gabe Whisenhunt (133 pounds)
  • Nash Singleton (141 pounds)
  • Matthew Olguin (165 pounds)
  • Daschle Lamer (174 pounds)

These victories automatically qualify them for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio .

NCAA Championship Qualifiers

Maximo Renteria (125 pounds) and Justin Rademacher (197 pounds) also secured berths to the NCAA Championships through allocation spots .

Gabe Whisenhunt (133): Whisenhunt, a Corvallis native, achieved major decisions against Anthony Lucio of Cal Poly (10-1) and Dillon Cooper of Little Rock (10-1) . He has 29 career wins after missing the 2024-25 season.

Nash Singleton (141): Ranked 23rd nationally, Singleton secured his second consecutive Pac-12 title with major decisions over Alek VanBebber of Cal Poly (11-0) and Brennan Van Hoecke of Little Rock (11-2) . He now holds a career record of 37-29 and a 15-7 season record.

Matthew Olguin (165): Olguin, a graduate student from Fresno, Calif., won his second Pac-12 title (previously in 2023) with an 8-0 major decision against Coen Quintana of Cal State Bakersfield and an 8-3 decision over Anthony Berg of Cal Poly . He leads the team with 62 career victories and is 17-6 this season.

Daschle Lamer (174): Lamer, a redshirt sophomore from Corvallis, dominated his competition with major decisions against Guillermo Escobedo of Cal State Bakersfield (9-0) and Gunner Holland of Little Rock (9-1) . He is 20-3 this season.
