State House official Oscar Mutebi has pledged to equip the ICT department at Molly and Paul Secondary School in Masaka District with new computers. Announced during a school event on Wednesday, the commitment aims to bolster digital literacy and bridge the technology gap for students in the Kyanamukaka Town Council.
Expanding Infrastructure Beyond the Classroom
The donation of computers, alongside promises of television sets and a public address system, follows a visit to the school where Mutebi observed student performances focused on community challenges and responsible citizenship. According to Mutebi, the initiative is part of a broader effort to extend social services to local communities during the current financial quarter.
The Roots of a Local Education Hub
Molly and Paul Secondary School, founded by Mr. Paul and Ms Molly, serves as a hub for secondary education in the area. The institution was established to provide local access to schooling, reducing the need for students to travel to distant institutions such as Kitovu Technical Institute or St. Mugaga Secondary School.
Building International and Local Partnerships
During the event, Kyanamukaka Town Council Mayor Zaina Nakidde highlighted the importance of supporting local education initiatives. Nakidde noted that the school has successfully attracted support from international development partners, including Adam William and Janet from the United States, who have assisted in developing school infrastructure.
Paul, a co-founder of the school, characterized the institution’s growth as a result of faith and community cooperation. He credited the support of local figures and international sponsors for transforming the school from an initial vision into a functional center for learning.

Following his visit to Molly and Paul Secondary School, Mutebi conducted an engagement at St. Mugaga Secondary School. He urged students to prioritize discipline, reading, and engagement with current affairs.
