SRF to Stream Oscar-Winning and Nominated Films
As the anticipation builds for the 96th Academy Awards, Swiss broadcaster SRF is offering a curated selection of eight award-winning and nominated films and short films available for streaming on Play SRF. The Oscars ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on the night of March 15th to 16th, 2026.

“Perfectly a Strangeness” (Nominated for Best Documentary Short Film, 2026)
Released in 2024, “Perfectly a Strangeness” received a nomination this year for Best Documentary Short Film. The 15-minute film features three donkeys journeying through the desert and around an observatory, seemingly discovering the universe without the use of dialogue. Stream on Play SRF.
“Anatomy of a Fall” (Winner of Best Screenplay, 2024)
The French drama “Anatomy of a Fall” garnered five nominations and won the Oscar for Best Screenplay in 2024. The 146-minute film centers on a woman, played by Sandra Hüller, accused of murdering her husband, with their visually impaired son as the sole witness. Stream on Play SRF.
“20 Days in Mariupol” (Winner of Best Documentary Feature, 2024)

“The Hateful Eight” (Winner of Best Film Music, 2016)

“The Woman and the TGV” (Nominated for Best Short Film, 2017)

“The Man Who Didn’t Want to Be Silent” (Nominated for Best Short Film, 2025)
“The Man Who Didn’t Want to Be Silent,” a 12-minute film, won Best Short Film at Cannes in 2025 but remained only a nominee at the Oscars. It depicts a man who stands up to armed paramilitaries on a train in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993. Stream on Play SRF.
“Past Lives” (Nominated for Best Film, 2024)
“Past Lives,” a 102-minute autobiographical romantic drama, was nominated for Best Film in 2024. The film explores the reunion of two childhood friends years after one emigrates from Seoul. Stream on Play SRF.
