Oklahoma State University to Host Workshops on Food Business and the Homemade Food Freedom Act

Stillwater, OK – January 29, 2026 – Oklahoma State University’s Robert M. Kerr Food and Agricultural Processing Center (FAPC) is offering a series of workshops and resources to support food entrepreneurs and businesses in oklahoma. These programs cover topics ranging from food business fundamentals to the specifics of the state’s Homemade Food Freedom Act.

A workshop focused on the Homemade Food Freedom Act is scheduled for May 14 in Stillwater. This workshop provides information on the regulations and requirements for producing and selling certain homemade food products directly to consumers. The cost to attend is $35, and preregistration is required.

In addition to the Homemade Food Freedom Act workshop,FAPC will host other educational programs in the first quarter of 2026. These include:

* Basic Training Entrepreneurial Workshop: February 19 – An introductory course covering the fundamentals of starting a food business.
* 2026 Research symposium: March 24 – A showcase of research and innovation impacting Oklahoma’s food and agricultural sectors.

FAPC also provides ongoing educational resources, including the Food Files podcast, which addresses a variety of food business and industry topics.

“Through research, education and technical assistance, FAPC supports food and agricultural businesses across the state and contributes to Oklahoma State University’s land-grant mission of serving Oklahoma communities and industries,” states the FAPC website.
