Otra Puse Valentine’s Day Meeting at Jūras Vārti Theater

Saturday, February 14, at At 19.00, the band “Otra Puse” invites you to a special Valentine’s Day concert “That’s you” at the “Jūras vārti” theater house.

The Valentine’s Day concerts have already become a tradition for the group “Otra puse” and this time they will also be performed in Ventspils – at the “Jūras vārti” theater. The group’s constant values – soloist Normunds Pauniņš and keyboardist Ivars Makstnieks – as well as independent members of the last years Mārtiņš Linde (drums), Jānis Čubars (guitars) and Mārtiņš Burkevics (bass) will perform at the concert.

Specially prepared for this day is a festive program with songs about love, which have been woven through the group’s biography throughout its existence – starting with less frequently performed compositions such as “Tev tuvotis”, “Jūtu cejāts”, “Tears for diamonds” and ending with well-known hits “Es Tev”, “Eskaties”, “Dievs dod”, “Savādā”, “Draw me”, “After the rain”, etc. “100th debut” song “Man dimantu nav”, as well as “Vēstules”, the anthem for love of the “Otra Puse” group.

The group “Otra Puse” has existed since 1992 and has released six albums so far (including a remix album and a Christmas album “Gingerbread Heart”), as well as a compilation of the best songs in the double album “Best Songs. Notis. Vārdi”. Two of these albums – “Nakts vai rīts” (2009) and “Draw me” (2013) – won the Latvian Music of the Year award as the best pop music albums. The song “Ave pali” in a duet with Aija Andrejeva won the first place in the “Music Bank” in 2011, and the song “Uzzemine mani” in a duet with Antra Stafeckas became the second most recognized song of the year in the “Music Bank” in 2013. In 2022, the group “Otra Puse” celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking it with concerts all over Latvia. On November 8, 2024, the group released their latest album “Sākums”.
