Senator Kim Announces Over $660,000 in PCCD Funding for Dauphin County Security and Services
HARRISBURG, PA – March 12, 2026 – Pennsylvania State Senator Patty Kim (D-Dauphin) today announced $661,199 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) awarded to organizations and initiatives within the 15th Senatorial District, covering Lower Dauphin County.
“I’m grateful for PCCD grants that support the vital work happening throughout Dauphin County,” said Senator Kim. “The organizations receiving this funding are doing critical work in our communities. Now more than ever, investments that strengthen the safety and security of their facilities are necessary so no one has to choose between doing great work and staying safe.”
Funding Breakdown
The funding is allocated as follows:
- Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA): $30,000 in Federal STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program funds for PCPA Law Enforcement Training.
- Dauphin County: $100,253 in FY 2025-26 Indigent Defense Grant Program Funds.
Nonprofit Security Grant Program Recipients
Several organizations received funding through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to enhance their safety and security measures:
- Al-Huda, Inc.: $150,000
- Bethel AME Church: $24,800
- CAST – Philadelphia: $20,000
- Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick: $28,296
- Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg: $75,000
- Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA): $25,000
- Congregation Chisuk Emuna of Harrisburg, PA: $25,000
- Islamic Center Masjid Al-Sabereen: $74,000
- Kesher Israel Congregation of Harrisburg: $25,000
- St. Francis of Assisi Parish: $33,850
- Temple Ohev Sholom: $25,000
- The Rabbi David L. Silver Yeshiva Academy: $25,000
These grants aim to bolster security infrastructure and preparedness within these vital community organizations.
Senator Kim has been a long-time advocate for public safety and community investment. In December 2024, she announced over $2 million in PCCD grants benefiting the 15th district, demonstrating a continued commitment to securing resources for Dauphin County. State officials have likewise recently proposed a budget investing over $100 million into gun violence prevention efforts, including a $37.5 million increase to the PCCD’s Violence Intervention and Prevention grant program.
Patty Kim, a Democrat, has served the 15th Senatorial District since 2025, previously representing the 103rd district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2013 to 2025.
