Pallacanestro Tolmezzo Defeats Azzano Basket to Claim Third Win
Pallacanestro Tolmezzo secured a 66-54 victory over Azzano Basket at home, capturing their third win in the DR1 basketball championship. The home side overcame a sluggish start marked by low shooting percentages before turning the game around in the second half.
Physical Defense From Azzano Stymies Tolmezzo Early
Azzano Basket opened the match at the Palazzetto with high physical intensity, effectively stifling the Carnic attack through the first two quarters. Tolmezzo struggled to find an offensive rhythm, missing several scoring opportunities and posting uncharacteristically low shooting marks. Despite building decent plays, the hosts failed to convert them consistently while facing intense defensive pressure from their opponents.
Defensive Adjustment and Second-Half Surge Secure Victory
The momentum shifted entirely after intermission when Tolmezzo raised their defensive intensity under the leadership of Tamigi, who earned MVP recognition from the crowd. This defensive solidity generated a decisive scoring run that allowed the home team to establish and maintain a comfortable lead until the final buzzer. Picottini led the scoring charge with 13 points, while Bellina contributed 12 points to seal the 66-54 outcome.
Nel nostro fortino non molliamo mai,
Michele Rupil said after the game.
