Pam Bondi Moved to Military Base Amid Threats Over Epstein Case and Maduro Capture

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was moved to secure housing on a Washington D.C. Area military base after receiving threats from drug cartels and individuals angered by her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to a report from The Novel York Times.

Escalated Threats Following Maduro Capture

Bondi was relocated from her Washington D.C. Apartment within the past month after federal law enforcement officials flagged the threats against her, sources familiar with the situation told The New York Times. The increase in threats reportedly began following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by U.S. Delta Forces in January .

Other Trump Officials Receive Protection

Bondi is not the only Trump administration official to be moved to military facilities for protection. The New York Times reported that Stephen Miller, Trump’s top domestic policy adviser, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, departing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have also been relocated to highly secure military facilities in or around D.C. . Army secretary Daniel P. Driscoll and Navy secretary John Phelan have also been moved to military installations, with Phelan previously experiencing an incident where his D.C. Home was damaged by fire .

Questions Over Housing Costs

It remains unclear whether the Trump officials are covering the costs of their housing on military properties. However, Kristi Noem reportedly paid “fair-market rent” for her housing in 2025, according to her spokesperson .

House Oversight Committee Subpoena

On March 4, 2026, the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi for testimony regarding the Justice Department’s handling of records related to the Jeffrey Epstein case . The motion passed with a vote of 24-19, with five Republicans joining Democrats in support of the subpoena . Representative Nancy Mace, who place forward the motion, stated that the DOJ has not released all Epstein files and that millions of documents are still missing .
