PAP Climate Action Group Launches Inaugural Climate Action Day in Tiong Bahru

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the PAP Climate Action Group held its inaugural Climate Action Day in Tiong Bahru, drawing approximately 800 residents to Eng Hoon Street for a community-focused event promoting sustainable living practices.

The street fair featured nine vendors, including household products start-up Ecoworks, urban farming initiative Edible Garden City and green beauty brand The Powder Shampoo. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about practical ways to integrate sustainability into daily life, such as purchasing second-hand textiles, growing edible crops at home, and using recycled plastics.

Ms Poh Li San, co-chair of the PAP Climate Action Group, emphasized that the event aimed to strengthen community engagement and raise awareness about sustainable practices. She highlighted the importance of individual action in light of the ongoing energy crisis linked to the Middle East conflict, urging Singaporeans to reduce consumption and conserve energy and water.

Ms Poh also noted that the eight backbench MPs in the PAP Climate Action Group have actively questioned the Government in Parliament regarding measures to secure Singapore’s energy and food supplies and manage prices during the oil crisis. Events like the Climate Action Day serve as valuable platforms for gathering public feedback on these issues.

The event was hosted in the ward of Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Foo Cexiang, who is also a member of the PAP Climate Action Group.
